hi again, ive got a void here but it seems to be broken.... broken void.sav Steps to Reproduce just load my save and see my void doesn't make anything
Report reply AlexRou 293 Posted June 13, 2017 I don't see a void? Voids are black circles and they don't make anything, they suck things in. Share this comment

Report reply AlexRou 293 Posted June 13, 2017 Last I checked, if wall of liquid flows over the void, it disappears for some reason. Share this comment
Report reply Risu 500 Posted June 13, 2017 The Void is an element, much like the Vacuum element. The vacuum element gets replaced by the element attempting to merge with it. The void destroys every element attempting to merge with it. Therefore it is impossible for anything to flow "over" a void tile. But yeah was back in TU Share this comment

Because TU never allowed 2 elements to occupy the same tile. Share this comment

Nope, all I saw was a wall of liquid falling from directly above the void and the very next frame where it would touch the void it disappears. Ahh if it was falling water in drop form then it's actually an entity until it collides with a floor where it shoves the occupant element out of the way or merges with it. Sorry to necro, but I noticed this whilst searching for another thread Voids can easily be destroyed with falling debris - shown this on stream, and in debug mode. Was much more common when the dupe-drop bug was more prominent, but essentially having debris drop through the tile the void occupies can break them. Not sure if it's related to the ever-impressive "floating debris" bug, or just the passing elements - but i've witnessed it a few times now. I had one destroyed that was in a closed room during my accept every dupe challenge, and it was because of a falling thimblereed seed... Dropping slime into a room of void also destroys the void tiles behind the slime balls. Seems that the displacement can't be performed when adding elements directly into the void tile. If it correctly displaced the polluted oxygen, the void would eat it instead. Share this comment
Report reply Lifegrow 1710 Posted July 27, 2017 They're very odd indeed, however as they were mentioned to be a "unintended left-in bug" in one of the live streams - i'd sort of just given up on them ever being wholly introduced/fixed.
