Shadow creatures go around walls

One of the characteristics of the shadow creatures is that they can go through anything, even walls when totally blocked. Then why they still go around them?

It's a behaviour of the pathfinding system in place.

If a pathfinding search is successful then it goes along the path instead of a more direct route that it can.
