whenever I open up the game, it just puts up a black screen and a thing that is titled "Error" and says "Error during initialization" I want to play but cant even see the start page, HELP PLEASE!

This means either the graphics card has drivers that are out of date, or it does not have sufficient dedicated memory (256MB) to render Don't Starve Together.

1) Ensure that all of your system's drivers (graphics card, audio card, operating system, etc...) are up-to-date. Out of date drivers can cause issues with software.

2) If you have a dedicated graphics card like an AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce card installed, you will have to go into your AMD or NVIDIA Control Panel and force your dedicated GPU to launch and run Don't Starve instead of your integrated card.

Should the issue persist, please send us a copy of your DXDiag.txt file.
