Years ago, a moody teenager cobbled together a character mod that did fairly well up until it completely broke. Now, that teenager is back as a responsible adult with a 9-5 job to bring you...

 

Warfarin: The Tricky Thief

Stats:

45 health

100 hunger

100 sanity (Drains half as fast in darkness, but twice as fast as default from monsters)

Mute

Can dash!

Hitting the Dash Key will sent Warfarin forwards in a quick dash that will dodge attacks, and Warfarin can dash into the ocean to reappear with a huge hit to their stats! Good for escapes, not so good for general exploring.

Jumping over a wall will make Warfarin climb and vault over it, making the dash go considerably farther.

Deals 75% default damage.

Can pickpocket pigmen at dusk.

Picks up everything instantly: Berry bushes, grass, crock pots, drying racks, etc.

Stealth:

Can hide in trees, berry bushes, tall grass, and saplings. Doesn't work if the saplings or tall grass has been picked.

Can hide in neutral treeguards for a mobile cover!

Enemies will see you if they get too close. The distance depends on how much light is nearby.

With a dagger equipped, you can ambush enemies while stealthed for massive damage! ambushing an enemy leaves them bleeding for a few seconds.

Throwing knife:

Long range

Low damage

1-use. Has a chance to survive and fall onto the ground where you can pick it back up.

Get 2 per craft.

The explosive throwing knife explodes for an extra 100 damage and ignites the target.

Dagger:

Attack twice as fast as any other weapon.

Allows ambushing!

Flint Dagger:

Low damage

Plenty of uses

Majestic Dagger:

High damage

Bit less uses

Night Dagger:

Vey High damage

Few uses

Ceremonial Dagger:

High Damage

Increases ambush range

Multi-Colored Pestilence:

Ship-wrecked only

Not a dagger

Moderate damage

Poisons all nearby enemies upon striking.

Not Very Short Bow:

Opens up the 'arrow tab'. Plop an arrow in there and you can fire it by attacking!

Arrows:

Require the bow to use!

Long range.

Normal Arrow:

Very high damage

15% for arrow to survive and be retrievable.

Rock Arrow:

Very low damage

Shoot walls to aggro all enemies in the area to the wall. Hay walls have a short aggro range, then wood walls, then stone walls, and ruin walls have the largest range.

Water Arrow:

Extinguish things!

No damage, ludicrous damage to the Dragonfly

Makes you cold when you're holding it.

Explosive Arrow:

Moderate damage

Ignites enemies

Explodes after 1-2 seconds of impact, dealing Ludicrous damage to everything nearby

Makes you overheat when holding it.

Pointy Arrow:

High damage

Makes enemies bleed

Killing birds and rabbits gives twice the karma loss.

Shooting even enemies or bosses will give 2 bad karma per shot. It's a pretty nasty weapon!

Smoke Bomb:

Throw at your feet to make all enemies stop targetting you! Makes you untargetable for 3 seconds.

Hallowed Mask:

Moderate armour

Can be used to surround yourself with blood-sucking insects to steal health for you!

Hidey Hood:

Short duration

Invisible while not performing actions. Can not ambush.

you gonna update warfarin?

although the character doesn't speak, I think it would be interesting if the character had new accessories or even a chester / animal modified or something like william

That's one of the exact reasons I will not. I want this to be different to William.

Pretty much nothing more than what's already in the mod at the moment. I'm turning away from character mods to make bigger all-character mods.

Nope. And I will not allow other people to take my work for a purpose I did not want that work to be for.

There's a speech file for this character so why doesn't he say anything? "Muting" a character is not an option. I mostly play without sound and i need to know when the hounds are coming for me.

It is, and I did it. I made them mute because it suited their personality. I'm not changing it.

Well the char is pretty good i give you that but since the player = the character, at least the player should be able to know what the character thinks. There is already a character out there that doesn't speak but instead the characters thoughts are shown *pretty hairy beast* just like this. Warfarin should act the same. I am not used to lua-coding and especially not to don't starve coding but if you won't enable the character to 'at least' show off his thoughts, then i will do it.

I think otherwise, and will not be changing my mod for one person. Don't mean to sound rude, but adding that and giving Warfarin a personality breaks what I intended them to be: A total mystery. The player is not supposed to know what they think or how they feel.

It's fine it's your character and you can develope him just as you like after all you put a lot of effort into him. I found the line that mutes him anyways so i can use him as he is and just comment that line.

It's not for person it's for everyone,your mod have a lot of crash,you should fix them !

About the weapons or  other thing you won't share,you know it's a mod,there are lines for it ! I asked you to give him 75hp instead of 65,you refused but I found it,I gave him 75 hp.I removed the muted thing,because you created a file for the speech,it's actually pretty long but useless if you can't use it so I removed the mute . if you won't help us then we can do it ourselves because it's only about files,no big deal.

1-About the crash,you did a good job but some still there and it crash the games sometimes,they are talking about the modmain lua,something like that.

2-I understand,i's your mod don't worry,I'm looking for a challenge,but only 10 more HP wans't a bad thing,for the muted sound,I reseted it todefault because it's fun and warfarin is opwith his weapon.

3-I don't modify him,I'm not amod creator,And I will not upload the mod anywhere because it's your work,I have alo of respect for you,I'm not that kind of person ! Anyway I removed the mod because the crash made me nervous ! I lost my 50 days save and actually i'm waiting for a  update or not,I play with my current chars : Wilson,Willow and Webber.

I love your mod,I won't make you stop working on it,forgive me :)

The mute was supposed to be one of the debuffs, as was the low health, to balance the ranged weapons.

 

If you could post either the log (Located in Documents/klei/do_not_starve for me) or a screenshot of the error screen to the mod page here: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/33462-warfarin-the-sticky-fingered/

 

I will see what the problem is and see if I can fix it. 

 

Have you updated recently? Because there was a crash with the backstab function located in that lua you said the error was in. I believe I have fixed that.

In the description, you talked about adding a hound hood that lets you breath through smoke and whatnot. Will you eventually do it and maybe add more? or you're just done with this mod?

 

p.s- This is now my favorite character and i would love an update on him, but i know you're busy with other mods.

It's half-finished, actually. I'll be able to finish it after I'm done with this huge list. I have two mods that I have to finish and release at the same time.

Good luck ! Anyway you're doing great,I love your mod and I've got no more bugs,that's my best custom char mod! I will wait for the new update
